Worked great
I only had a minor tear that didn't require stitching, but these were awesome for the general swelling after giving birth. I ordered 4 and used them all up the first morning. They just felt really nice.

Peri-packs that didnt work
Unfortunately we must have received a bad batch of the peri-cold packs. None of these in my birth kit worked. We followed the instructions but they just never got cold... ar best they became barley colder than room temp. This is my 4th child and I am quite experienced in using these and was disappointed that these did not work at all after my 2nd degree tear.

This is what you want to aid in the immediate post birth swelling. If your birth is easy you will want at least one, but if there is any tearing you will probably want more than one. I used two.
