Gentle Birth Formula by Mountain Meadow Herbs, 4oz.

Herbal Dietary Supplement.

A unique blend of herbs traditionally used to benefit labor and delivery. Gentle Birth Formula has helped many mothers with easier labor and delivery, advanced dilation before discomfort arises, minimized postpartum blood loss. It also helps for a shorter recovery time, less pain during labor and delivery and shorter and easier labors for those who tend to have long difficult births.

The inspiration for Gentle Birth Formula came from the aged pages of an old but wise midwifery guide, where it was used as a tea to tone the uterine muscles and help prepare the mother to give birth. This forgotten but timeless medicinal recipe was brought to life again in 2001, tested and updated to reflect what modern research has taught us. These herbs were used to make beautiful golden extracts and combined to create an easy-to-take, quickly-absorbed, liquid formulation to help your body be at its best when labor starts.

Perceived benefits include an easier, shorter, and more comfortable labor and delivery, plus a shorter recovery time. Strengthens & tones the uterus in preparation for labor, speeds healing & recovery. Provides support for a smooth, less painful delivery and may reduce the need to induce labor.

Recommended by midwives and doulas and perfect for making a labor prep tea in the third trimester. Gentle Birth Formula has become a favorite of midwives who attend home births and even doctors comment on the smooth and easy deliveries mothers experience who use it. Today it's used in many countries around the world, including Canada, Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Australia. Count our Gentle Birth formula among your labor must-haves, and help your body be at its best when labor starts.

We also offer this supplement in a version that does not contain Blue Cohosh or Red Raspberry

    Highly recommended!

Gentle Birth gives you a gentle birth indeed! Under the supervision of my midwife, I dosed myself with castor oil to induce labor at 40+2. Hours later, i assumed that labor wasn't happening and began the Miles Circuit routine to make sure baby was in optimal position for labor. I was on part 2 of the Miles Circuit when I began to feel very gentle contractions. They reminded me of a flower blooming. No joke! It was very relaxing. My midwife checked me about an hour after these contractions began and confirmed that I was in labor. She said I'd probably be calling her in 3 or 4 hours. Well. Gentle Birth and my body had another plan. I labored very peacefully for a total of 2.5 hours (my husband didn't seem to understand that I was actually in labor since I wasn't doing my usually groaning and moaning.) Then my body kicked into high gear and we went from me being able to walk and talk in between contractions right to transition. We called the midwife long before she expected to be needed, but she didn't even make it in time to deliver the baby. I barely made it into my birth pool before my baby was born. I thought I knew birth, as this was my 4th, but Gentle Birth really changes the experience. I feel that it made the early and middle stages of labor very gentle and mild, and the final stage was very quick and effective. As soon as the baby was born, I said, "I would do that again! I would have ten kids if every birth was that amazing!" I have never said that for any of my other births, that is FOR SURE! I will never labor again without being on Gentle Birth for the final weeks of pregnancy. It makes such a difference!

    Worth It

I was able to use this for the last month of my fourth pregnancy, and it was effective; since I hadn’t used these herbs before, I didn’t have as much as the recommended dosage suggested, but I believe it would have worked even better if I had done so. My labor and delivery was very straightforward (about 3 hours, no tearing), but most helpfully, I was able to observe a gentle and consistent progression of cervical ripening and hormonal shifts in the three days prior to having my water break. For someone without allergies or other known complications that might interact with these herbs, I would definitely recommend this.

    This was the best!

Where has this been all my life!?!? Seriously. I always have really fast and intense (i.e. extremely unenjoyable) L&D. This was amazing. I started taking it a few weeks before my EDD as per the instructions. Took it faithfully. My labor was longer and less intense than any of my others. In fact it wasn’t even uncomfortable until about an hour before time to push. Most of the time, I couldn’t even tell if I was having a contraction. If I hadn’t had a bloody show, I would have never guessed I was in labor. When I got to the birth center I was 90% and 8cm, and didn’t even believe I was in labor. That said, it did get quite uncomfortable near the end, but nothing I couldn’t handle in my 7th rodeo. I will always make sure I have this and AfterEase for L&D and post-partum from now on.

    Such good prep!

I have used this product now with my last three pregnancies and find it to be super helpful with my births, comparing to my first two without. Very thankful to be able to get it from In His Hands!

    Great product

I tried this tincture for the first time few weeks before giving birth to my second child. I followed the protocol recommended. I ended running out of it because my child was born "overdue" at 42 weeks. I believe it really helped my body getting prepared for this labor and delivery. My early labor was very smooth and active labor very quick (though still intense). I got to deliver our baby safely at home in a gentle and relatively smooth labor! Try it for yourself:)

    Quick Labor!

I took the recommended doses and had a very quick labor of 8hrs from start to finish. I chose the one with no raspberry leaf tea as I was drinking some 2x daily. Whether or not the tincture played a significant role is unknown, but others swore by it so I did it and am pleasantly surprised.

    Amazing!

my contractions started around 5:45 pm, got to the hospital around 8:45 pm 8-9 cm dilated, and had my baby at 9:45 pm that night. not sure if this tincture did the trick but i’d definitely do it again! it tastes awful, but mix it in some juice & you’re good to go.

    Tasty tincture

I took this with my first birth and am not taking it at the end of my second pregnancy. I enjoy the taste and put it in a little shot glass with an ounce or two of water. It’s a bit strong on its own. I like to think it helps. It was recommended by my midwife and I’ve only heard positive things.
