OUT OF STOCK.  ORDERS OF THIS PRODUCT WILL BE SUBSTITUTED WITH A PLASTIC CORD CLAMP.

The Umbi-Ring product is no longer available at this time due to a manufacturing problem our supplier has encountered.

The supplier has not given us a timeframe on when they will be available again but they do hope to offer them again.

Going forward, if your kit has an Umbi-Ring in it, a “Plastic Cord Clamp” will be substituted. If you prefer the Cetro Cord Band, Deroyal Umbilical Tape or another substitute instead please contact us. If you are fine with Plastic Cord Clamps being substituted instead there is no need to contact us.

Due to technical limitations, the product name "Umbi-Ring" may still appear on your birth kit page on our website as well as some packing slips. But we will let you know via email when the product is shipping again.

We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We know how many of you love this product and we are communicating that to the supplier and hope we can ship this product again soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this or anything else, we are happy to help.

Maintains continuous compressing action around umbilical cord. Does not require removal. Sterile.

Replaces the need for plastic cord clamps.

Umbi-Ring is an effective way for Midwives and Practitioners to constrict an umbilical cord without having to remove the device later.

Umbi-Ring maintains continuous compressing action around the umbilical cord, until umbilical stump falls off. Umbi-Ring is sterile, inexpensive, easy to use, and provides more comfort for the baby. Umbi-Ring is also made in the USA.

Umbi-Ring consists of a latex band around two plastic pieces, forming a ring. Once the plastic pieces are separated, the band shrinks down and compresses the umbilical cord to stop blood flow. This device is similar to a product, no longer available, called the AGA cord ring. Unlike the AGA cord ring, the Umbi-Ring constricts slowly which allows it to be moved into place, momentarily and prevents possible cord laceration.

Allergy information: Contains latex.

    Cord rings

Posted by Sonya Beutel on 4th Jun 2019

Cord rings are fabulous!! They are great under cord ties, use with cord burning or just instead of a clamp. They are small, non-invasive and don’t leave those sharp edges that clamps do. I’ll never go back to cord clamps.

    Better than clamps

These rings are way better than cord clamps because they are not bulky. My clients and myself included prefer to use these and will pay the difference in price between them and the clamps.

    Umbi-ring

These work great! They are much more comfortable for the baby. The parents like these better for that reason too. They do not last for a long time (the band gets older so you risk it not shrinking down as well) so if you do not have a busy practice, only order what you need and will use up over several months.

    Hope these stay around forever!

These are awesome! So much more comfortable for moms and babies too! I don't ever want to go back to those clamps.

A word of warning, the band does shrink down very slowly and these aren't as good after the six month period so heed the warning and only order what you need. I only have two on hand and have them in my birth supply kit.
