The Comfortable Upright Birth (CUB®) is much more than a Birth Stool!  It is the only SUPPORT you’ll ever need.

The CUB is a comfortable, versatile, inflatable support designed to help mothers adopt and maintain positions that are physically the most helpful for her and her baby during labor and birth.

When a laboring women is in an upright position it helps the baby to be in the best position for birth.  Upright Birth creates more space within the mother’s pelvis than if she is semi-sitting or lying on her back, resulting in an easier birth.

Each CUB® Support comes packaged in its own CUB® branded box and includes a Manual Inflation Pump, Terry Cloth Cover, Repair Patch Kit, and Product Information.

CUB® Support was created by Scottish Midwife Cass McNamara.  Cass understood the need for a reliable, versatile, and comfortable tool to assist with Upright Birthing.

    The CUB is really sweet.

I just used it for the first time. The CUB is lovely for being on your knees in labor or for birth. Momma can simply drape herself over with tummy/baby tucked into the cutout and relax deeply with zero extra energy to support herself. Sitting on it in a semi-recline or rocking back and forward was also good. The cover is beyond worthless in my opinion. Both my client and I touched it and felt the icky feel, immediately decided it was not usable for the unpleasant sensation. It is a microfibre, ugh. I cut it up for a pattern and created a simple slip over cotton flannel cover. So much better, but a bit of work. I tossed the cover in the trash when I was done. The elastic around the bottom of the cover was a tight elastic; my clients and I had a good laugh about it being harder to get the CUB through that hole than to get their baby out of momma. Overall, we like it and will be using it. It takes up some space if you keep it blown up, but is light weight and easy to carry if you have the room in your vehicle. It is easy to clean too. I cleaned it when I took it into their home and again when I put it back in my car. Happy birthing everyone. And, I might be talked into making more covers.
